Viet Nam and Singapore advance cooperation in digital economy, AI and innovation
On May 26, 2026, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan held a working session with Singaporean representative Rajpal Singh to discuss orientations for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in digital economy, artificial intelligence, innovation and digital capacity development.
At the working session, Rajpal Singh spoke highly of digital cooperation between Viet Nam and Singapore in recent years, particularly following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Digital and Innovation Cooperation and the implementation of the Green Digital Economy Partnership.
Singapore expressed its wish to work with Viet Nam to take digital cooperation to a new height, including promoting the Viet Nam–Singapore Industrial Park model towards VSIP 2.0, with greater application of digital technologies, smart manufacturing and sustainable community development.

Minister Vu Hai Quan proposed that the Singaporean side focus on several areas of cooperation, including:
i) Sharing experience in developing the digital economy and measuring its contribution to GDP growth;
ii) Strengthening cooperation in innovation programmes, including the "100 Experiments" model to connect technologies with enterprises;
iii) Supporting digital governance capacity building, technology workforce training, and the sharing of experience in digital transformation policies and cross-border data governance.
The Minister emphasised that Viet Nam's priorities are to develop core technologies, improve the effectiveness of state governance, and complete policy mechanisms to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in service of economic growth.
