Ministry of Science and Technology and Sunwah Group advance cooperation in strategic technologies and high-quality human resources development

On the afternoon of May 25, 2026, in Ha Noi, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan held a working session with Jonathan KS Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group of Hong Kong, China.

The Sunwah Group delegation included around 60 representatives from Chinese enterprises and organisations operating mainly in innovation, startups, high technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare and biopharmaceuticals, new energy, construction and new materials.

An overview of the working session.

At the working session, the two sides discussed several key areas of cooperation, including:

- Coordination in state management, policy consultation and technology governance;

- Promotion of research and development of strategic technologies;

- Strengthening cooperation in innovation and the development of the technology startup ecosystem;

- Training and development of high-quality human resources;

- Promotion of cooperation in culture and people-to-people diplomacy.

Minister Vu Hai Quan emphasised that the meeting was important in realising the cooperation orientations agreed upon by the high-level leaders of the two countries, thereby opening up opportunities for practical cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

The Minister affirmed that Viet Nam is committed to offering the most favourable incentives for technology enterprises investing in research and development in the country. It also gives priority to developing high-quality human resources for science, technology and innovation, while ensuring essential infrastructure such as electricity, water supply, transport and logistics.
