Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan exchanged diplomatic notes (Letter of Intent) with Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand (MHESI).

The diplomatic notes from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the implementation of the Agreement on Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand, which was signed in Bangkok on August 17, 2017.

The exchange of this Letter of Intent demonstrates the strong determination of both nations to revive and effectively promote the agreement. This will lay the groundwork for expanding research, innovation, and technological development cooperation between the two countries, bringing tangible benefits to the scientific communities, businesses, and people of Viet Nam and Thailand.

This event is also a meaningful activity as both nations head towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1976 - 2026), while contributing to the realization of the Viet Nam - Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was upgraded in May 2025./.
