During the meeting, Minister Vu Hai Quan affirmed that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to its cooperation with Singapore, a comprehensive strategic partner of Viet Nam and a model reference for digital governance, digital economy, and digital society within ASEAN.

Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan held a working session with the Singaporean Ministry of Digital Development and Information in Singapore
The Minister stated that digital transformation in Viet Nam is entering a new phase, in which the digital economy is identified as a crucial driver for growth. The objective is to generate tangible results from digital transformation to enhance productivity, drive economic growth, and improve citizens' quality of life. Currently, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Viet Nam is leading and coordinating the formulation and implementation of various policies on the digital economy, digital society, artificial intelligence (AI), data, innovation, and corporate digital transformation.
The two sides focused their discussion on two key issues:
First, methodologies for measuring the contribution of the digital economy to GDP, productivity, and the digitization process in non-ICT sectors.
Second, sharing experience in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in digital transformation to improve productivity, management capacity, value chain participation, and innovation capabilities.
Minister Vu Hai Quan expressed his hope that the two sides would move beyond just sharing experience to expand more substantive cooperation on the digital economy between the two ministries as well as between specialized agencies of both countries. This, in turn, will strengthen technical exchanges and coordination in implementing initiatives in the coming time.
