The Vietnam Agricultural Map, an innovative initiative by the Domestic Market Management Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is a groundbreaking platform aimed at providing comprehensive information about origins, production areas, and processes of Vietnam’s agricultural products.
When officially launched, the project is set to promote consumption, and introduce greater transparency in both domestic and international agricultural markets.
The Vietnam Agricultural Map is now publicly available at https://bandonongsanviet.vn/ . It is an open, transparent database continuously updated to serve consumers, businesses, and government agencies.
First introduced at the 2025 Vietnam Agricultural Week, the map offers a visual and user-friendly way to search for information about local specialties, including product origins, production regions, and contact details of suppliers.
Initially, the map focused on showcasing agricultural products from 34 provinces and cities, highlighting regional advantages, local identities, and economic values. This first phase is a promising start toward honouring the diversity and richness of Vietnam’s agricultural products.

The product catalog on the map is based on recommendations and verifications from local Departments of Industry and Trade, ensuring that the products meet strict quality, reputation, and regional criteria. This approach guarantees an accurate portrayal of Vietnam’s agricultural landscape while laying a strong foundation for expanding the data in future stages.
The selection of products in the initial phase not only serves to introduce significant local specialties but also creates a foundation for further developing and broadening the national agricultural data in the future.
The goal is to build a unified, updated, and transparent database linking farmers, businesses, and consumers, ultimately supporting better management, trade promotion, and the global branding of Vietnamese agricultural products.
Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Domestic Market Management Department, highlighted the importance of the project, noting that agricultural products are not only a key economic sector but also closely tied to Vietnam’s history and culture. Each region and community has its own unique specialties. Therefore, the Vietnam Agricultural Map is not just a tool for promotion but also plays a role in building a brand for agricultural products from local to national levels, linking these products with regional cultural and historical identities.
He further explained that the map's selection criteria aim to highlight local specialties while creating a transparent, unified, and continually updated data system. This, in turn, boosts the economic value of each region and enhances the nation's agricultural profile on both domestic and international markets.
The digital map allows users to search for agricultural products by province, offering a clearer view of the diversity of Vietnamese produce.
Beyond showcasing products, the map is designed to evolve into an open search platform offering detailed information on product origins, production areas, processes, quality certifications, and supplier data. The system will be continuously updated to reflect the potential and cultural stories behind each agricultural product.
With a robust and verified database, the map serves as an effective bridge between producers, distributors, and export partners. This not only enhances the competitiveness of Vietnam’s agricultural products but also increases the value and global standing of Vietnamese agricultural brands.
Doan Ngoc Bao, representative of the Bao Phuong Orange Cooperative in Nghe An, expressed his pride in having his products featured on the map.
“Being featured on the national agricultural map provides an invaluable opportunity to strengthen the brand of our province. The map serves as a tool that allows us to connect more easily with consumers, expand our presence in domestic markets, and explore export potential. Ultimately, when local products gain preference among Vietnamese consumers, it can have a profound impact on the livelihoods and income of farmers.”
The map is not just a technological innovation, it symbolises the digital transformation of Vietnam’s agricultural sector. The project offers consumers a deeper understanding of product origins and quality while providing opportunities for businesses and farmers to enhance brand value and expand markets. This initiative is a key step towards modernising Vietnam’s agricultural industry in the digital age and building a transparent, accessible platform that connects every stakeholder from production to consumption.
As the map continues to grow, it will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agricultural trade, empowering consumers to make informed choices, and helping businesses expand their reach both locally and globally./.
