Viet Nam, Germany expand cooperation in semiconductors and high-tech human resources

<p style="text-align: justify;">On June 30, 2026, during a working session with German Ambassador to Viet Nam Helga Margarete Barth, Minister Vu Hai Quan discussed key cooperation orientations in scientific research, innovation, and high-tech human resource development, with a focus on semiconductors and green energy transition.</p>

Overview of the working session

The Minister highly appreciated the cooperative results between Viet Nam and Germany in the fields of training, research, and academic collaboration. At the same time, he affirmed that Viet Nam is giving high priority to the development of science, technology, and innovation, viewing them as crucial driving forces for the country's development.

Based on the discussions at the meeting, Minister Vu Hai Quan suggested that both sides could continue to promote cooperation across the following pillars:

- Strengthening the implementation of joint research programs between Vietnamese and German scientists in priority areas;

- Deepening cooperation in the semiconductor field, effectively leveraging laboratories and research infrastructure;

- Enhancing collaboration in training, research, and the development of high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of scientific and technological advancement in the new era.

Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth expressed her desire to further expand research and training programs, as well as to connect the innovation ecosystems of the two nations.

Both sides agreed to continue exchanges to to translate these cooperative frameworks into concrete actions in the coming time, aiming to promote substantive, effective, and long-term cooperation programs./.
