Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh received and held a working session with Former U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel Kritenbrink, Board Member of The Asia Group

On the morning of June 9, 2026, in Ha Noi, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh received and held a working session with Former U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel Kritenbrink, Board Member of The Asia Group. The two sides discussed IP rights protection and opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation between Viet Nam and the United States in the new era.

Deputy Minister Hoang Minh emphasized Viet Nam's consistent stance of showing zero tolerance toward IP rights infringements. This is a seamless policy spanning from the guidelines of the Communist Party of Viet Nam to institutionalization into laws and enforcement by ministries, sectors, and localities.

According to the Deputy Minister, protecting IP rights is for the benefit of Viet Nam and its businesses. For Viet Nam to develop and integrate globally, it must strictly enforce IP rights protection. This remains a consistent policy rather than a reactive measure implemented only when concerns arise from the U.S. side.

Viet Nam is actively perfecting its institutional framework and enhancing the substantive enforcement of intellectual property rights. From May 7 to May 30, 2026, competent authorities detected and handled 2,036 cases of IP rights infringement, demonstrating our firm resolve not to tolerate any violations
